This may come across as a dumb question - a direct result of my ignorance in all that's related to image processing software but is there a problem to fill the labels with the background colour?

Pipe, perhaps you should consider asking Neddu for permission to use his bitmaps. For one they're green also and besides they have a complete copilots panel with some very nice touches in terms of subpanel access.

Well, it is an option, although a very work-intensive one for the simple reason that many descriptions lie in shades or lighting reflections and if you start to clean up and fill simply homogene backround color in, you´ll still end up with readable labels ................. in backround color. It´s possible, yes, but it would be much easier to take unlabeled bitmaps and label them properly in German.

Cool idea, that´s the panel I fly, too, and with great pleasure. I´ll ask him.

Alright,

Neddu authorized me to use his base textures. Thanks, Neddu!

I´ll do the german labeled panel bitmaps.

@onkelknolle

Do you think I can use parts of these high-res pictures for the side- and back views?

Is there any chance to get them from the original developer?

Heiko,

I'll ask, but as you know we're all sorts of busy with another task until end of January, so can take some time.

Now, to make it fully authentic, still the German inscriptions in the signal light boards would be interesting. These are certainly only shown in the original manual. A copy or scan of these few pages still would be great.

So if anyone should come across the above mentioned library in Dresden ...

And wouldn´t I know?

The IL-62 panel modification won´t be ready tomorrow, for sure. But Michael, with Neddu´s permission to use his textures, you don´t need to ask the original developer anymore.

Hi,
the Deutsche Bibliothek (German National Library) in Leipzig owns this book also. I will try to get there soon.

Tomorrow I´m in the library. Some special wishes? I definitely can´t copy the whole book (370 pages!) 10ct/copy...+2 day membership
I try to get the pages with the German inscriptions in the signal light boards.

The cockpit of the IL-62 in Merseburg was few minutes ago in TV (ca. 40s). The replay is Saturday 03:25 AM CET in "Sachsen-Anhalt-Heute" mdr-television.

Fellows,
I used the good weather to visit the library by bicycle (90km return )

I worry that the result is not fully satisfying. As expected the book was not that easy structured like a PMDG-manual but I missed some schemes of the signal lights ("Warntableau" or "Signaltableau")

Nevertheless I made copies of pages that might be useful in this context. I marked the parts that are most likely helpful for us in red.
http://rapidshare.com/files/90519163/FZH_IL-62_IF-Auszug.pdf.html

I assume that some signal lights in the IF-IL62 are in Russian as well. Hopefully Heiko can use something from the pdf...

Best regards
Jürgen

I´ve carefully studied the high-res pics that were available some time ago and conclude that the cockpit labels are a mixture of German and Russian. This will easen a bit the work.

Your link above doesn´t work. It says "deleted by uploader".

Yep, work in progress. Together with a V2 Interflug repaint.
