Hi

Can anybody give me instruction how to land with ILS. Attached instruction is not clear for me. I want to land ILS without managing that sophisticated built in pattern approach system, just simple proper adjusting on ILS path. THX

You don't need the approach system, as you call it, for an ILS landing. Just make sure to set the AP to "land" mode, have the HSI needle pointing AT THE CORRECT HEADING (that of the runway) and engage both horizontal and vertical control.

Michael can correct me on this, but I believe you also need to have you gear down and full flaps to capture the glide slope on the 62.

To operate auto landing it is needs to set VOR station frequency?
It is possible to land by ILS manualy ?

ANBO

You'll need an ILS frequency (ie localizer + glideslope) and the correct magnetic heading of the runway to be set on the HSI.

Nothing stops you from following the directors manualy of course

I have a strange problem with Il-62 when landing in auto mode, it captures the glideslope and tracks it, and at some point instead of activating the GO AROUND mode it dives into the ground without any warning signal. Where is the probem?

Dumblius

Do you have FSPax installed? or perhaps some weather program that simulates vertical flow?

No just the plain FS2004 with tu-154, il-62M and tu-144 addons.

You could be too heavy. Correct all-up weight (90,000 or less) , trim (especially CofG) and approach speed are critical for a smooth ILS coupled approach on the 62.

After some more test flights now it doesn't dive but lands automatically, and still no GO AROUND.

If I remember well, the Il-62M model has autoland function --> so no G/A on minimums. Otherwise, do you have the decision height set, full flaps, AP and AT correctly set?
