How to turn off warning sound after the flaps is extracted but the gears are on up / neutral positions? Does the sirena switch work here in the right corner of the engineer-pult?

May help, is from the M-Manual:

There are several config files in the folder gauges/Tu154m_cfg.
Most of the values in these files should not be changed, but they contain also items that might be interesting to modify,
when applicable :

gear_warn_mode=2
Operational mode of the signal system "landing gear extension".
Possible versions:

0 - enhanced version
2 – standard version.

The switch on the overhead should work in FSX also. But it will not warn you if you will forget the gear after that.

BUT:

The real procedure with the Tu-154 was to put the gear down and secure it first.

Why:

1) The Tu-154 could fly at max landing wheight at 400-380 km/h (manuevering speed around airports) safely without any flaps.
2) Due to some aerodynamic qualities of the Tus the gear down gives additional stability.
3) According to the Russian flying philosophy the most important point of a safe landing was that the gear is extended, so gear down should be done first.
4) Low drag low power approaches were not a priority in the Soviet Union: Fuel was cheap and plenty. Self defense groups against airport noise were a poltical imposibilty.
5) The landing-gears are quite overbuilt on all Soviet airliners.
6) But the hydraulic systems needed some time to extend and secure the landing gear and had not enough power to lower the flaps and assure full movement of the flight controls at the same time less on short final.
So if you want to "fly" in a realistic way a Tu-154 lower the gear before the flaps.

Kind regards

Walter
