Save Flight

From the manual it appears that to save a flight you need to be airborne for a given time and at a given minimum altitude, then click on a spot on the left post. I try that based on the picture, but always open a panel instead. The manual indicates that this spot should open the standard flight sim "save flight" function.

I would like to set up a flight situation where I can practice ILS and just do touch and goes, pattern work.

Is there anyway to save a flight in this configuration so as to avoid the extended engine start drill?

Also, it appears a lot of the links go to "not found".
