Here a freeware tool (in German, but should be selfexplaining)

www.nautictools.de

Calculate and enjoy.

But beware there are some discrepancies to NAVCALC, think because in NAVCALC you can enter one digit more of the coordinates. Therefore NAVCALC should be more exact. But NAVCALC doesnt calculate bearing, distance to an off course RSBN. Therefore its useful for some navigation problems.

Regards

Walter

Hi John and to all:

Captain Lims homepage is now blocked by my antivirus also cause it contains malware, therefore I have deleted my post. Dont think that Cap Lim is responsible, but for the moment I would not recomend to visit his website. Sorry, was very interesting stuff.

Best regards

Hi to all:

There exists a non-official Website of the Indian Airforce. There you can see how Russian planes are looking and doing working for the Indian Government. There are also fotos of the Indian TU-124 VIP-aircraft.

http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Images/Vintage/Transports/Tu124/

The offical website of the Indian Airforce is this:

The late Angelo D Arrigo was a pilot, ornithologist and adventurer of incredible achievments. Sorry that he died as passanger in the sportsplane of a friend in a local airshow.

Here his homepage with such incredible stories like crossing the Andes in a hangglider, teaching birds to cross the alps etc:

A link not for thoose with fear of flying:

QUANTAS: A 380 engine desintegration:

http://blogs.crikey.com.au/planetalking/2010/11/17/the-anatomy-of-the-airbus-a380-qf32-near-disaster/

The Austrialian airtrafic authorities discovered that the damage caused by the RR-engine was much more serious as published.

Quote:
The examination of the damage is far from complete, as the presentation makes clear. It doesnt deal with the other dimensions of this serious incident, which are the loss or impairment of various systems on the giant airliner, and the emerging difficulties the crew faced from fuel load imbalance caused by some of those failures.

Thanks god, that the pilots knew their job well! Seems they landed not only with an airplane with a lot of imbalance but also without slats.

Kind regards

Walter

Since the englisch version of the official report of MAK still doesnt download here the summary:

http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20100410-0

For the very similar Aspen-crash of a chartered Gulstream Jet crashing below runway elevation and far below MDA while on a legally daubtful VOR-approach with an angry customer riding on the jumpseat in the cockpit:

and about Crew-Coordination:

Hi everybody:

For finding a simchart often is the best way to look for it in the homepage of the local VATSIM organisation.

http://www.vatsim.net/index.php?id=start

But if you dont find something trying to go to some exotic places you can also try that:

Happy landings!
