Could anyone "in the know". Post a short tutorial on how to plan a takeoff with 2.03.
I have seen the charts in Russian RLE but I am not sure how to use them.

Let's say we have the following wx conditions at the airport:
Temp: 20°C
Press: 750 mmHg
Airport alt: 100 m
Could anyone make a step by step tutorial how to plan a takeoff in such conditions and point how to use the charts in Chapter 8. It would be really appreciated.

Have you read the Readme (especiall section devoted to engine performance)?

Ok, let's try once again.

If you perform a takeoff at TO thrust, then after reaching thrust reduction altitude (not less than 260 m) you should set N2 RPM 1.5% less than actual TO thrust RPM.
If you want to perform a takeoff at nominal (climb) thrust, you should define the maximum TO RPM for the given conditions using Fig. 8.1.2 of the RLE (FCOM).

For conditions listed above:
T=20°C; QNH=750 mmHg; Alt=100 m => QFE=740 mmHg
See picture how to use Fig.8.1.2.
delta N2 = +1% (at given conditions) => N2max = 95.5% + 1% = 96.5%. This will be a limit when fuel automatics starts to reduce RPM in order not to exceed this value.

Thus, the nominal (climb) RPM will be 1.5% less => N2climb=95%.

Thanks for explaining it. I used the lower part of the chart and didn't know what to do next, LOL. It seems I need to start learning Russian.

Hello friends. I have the same problem, like WalterLeo's. I have Saitek X52 and my thrust also don't work. I tryed many different configurations but there is no effect. I readed all previous posts, but I didn't found the cure for my problem. I am in a step from desperation.

What is exactly your problem? Do you use keyboard or joyaxis for the thrust control?

Now I use the keyboard and everythings work. But I want to use joyaxis for the thrust control. For now it is inactive. I set the PT joy panel. There the joyaxis for thrust moves, but on the RUD panel don't move.

Hi: did you program all three engines via the PT Joy-Utility on the joystick (powerslide etc.) together? It only works this way. For me it worked also less the reversers. But even that it can be overcome with the centering. For the Saitek there exist even values.
Somebody in the German forum cited:

"...following values are recommended for a Joystick with small axis travel, e.g. several Logitech, Saitek or similar models. :
Aileron : Sensitivity = 1.0 , Filter = 60 , Centering = 0.0 , Nonlinearity = 2. 0- 2.2
Elevator : Sensitivity = 1.0, Filter = 60, Centering = 0.0, Nonlinearity = 2.0 – 2.2
Rudder : Sensitivity = 1.0, Filter = 60, Centering = 0.0, Nonlinearity = 1.8 - 2.0
Throttle 1, 2, 3 : Sensitivity = 1.0, Filter = 60 , Centering = -0.01 , Nonlinearity = 1.0

For input devices with longer travel, e.g. the much recommended PFS Jeliner Yoke, the values for Nonlinearity can be considerably reduced..."


Use the "search" botton here looking for "Saitek". And consult the manual p. 36 f. and beware, that you have really programmed all three engines on the device using the guarded switch with the cap of the joy-utility.
I didnt use the slide on my MS Sidwinder Joystick cause I dont like the feeling.

According the screenshot it should be to the right of the firepanel and masterwarning "SIRENA" switches on the free space in v. 2.03. I will not install that for the moment, cause I use now that free space for my "fuelcomputer".

Besides that it will have sense only after a (posible) Вопрос new update of the airfile where the degrading of the flight-parameters and the failure of systems because of ice accumlation will be simulated.
If that makes sense with the crude weather-model of FS 2004 is an open question.

I have one idea , I think the engine performance and efficiency is seem some below as real , on the last version behind 2.03 is the better thrust . what about the others ??

I strongly recommend you to read the supplied README file. Especially, the section dedicated to engine performance and climb procedure. Generally, it's a major difference between 2.02 and 2.03.
