Hello

I wonder if anyone knows some program or an excel sheet, what makes me able to calculate points what are not referred by geographical coordinates, just with a Radial and DME from a station (of course station coordinates are given). Since the VOR radial tracking on the Il is quite hard and needs handflying, i would like to program the SID/STAR to the PA-31.

For example: Lets have VOR A (Nx, Ey), and the SID required to join the RAD 270 at 3 DME (point1) fly it until 24 DME (ponit2) then proceed to a described intersection.

Basically you can calculate it, because the geo coords are fixed, but woud require too much sinuscosinus stuff and has place for big errors.

Anyone aware of such program?

Hi!
Better late than never:

http://williams.best.vwh.net/gccalc.htm

Refer to chapter:

Compute lat/lon given radial and distance from a known point

Kind regards and sorry for the delay!

Walter
