Hallo,

There is a new masterpiece available at Avsim.ru: the new Tu-104!

http://www.avsim.su/f/fs2004-originalnie-samoleti-40/legendarniy-layner-tu-104-v-0-91-25499.html

Shall we consider taking forum posts to this aircraft to the Projects Tu-134 and Tu-124 section of the forum?

How are your first experiences with the "new" Tupolev?

Thanks a lot to its developers!
Огромное спасибо!!!

Why not integrate it in the Tu-134 Tu 124 Forum? Later on I´will try it out. Seems my gutfeeling that the Tu-104 (at least the later versions) had a cockpit similar to the Tu 124 was not so far from the truth at least this is the impression of the first screenshots. See my picture at the end of page 67 of the screenshot gallery.
For the moment an interesting report by an American pilot who flew on the TU 104 and Tu 114: http://www.55srwa.org/MEMORY_LANE/07-1009_Pizzo_Soviet.pdf
Needless to see its through american eyes!
Best regards

Good idea, I have changed the forum title accordingly.

I spent a couple of hours this morning trying her out.

Could have done with an English manual (is there one available?).

I managed to get most of the systems to work and even managed to activate the instruments and set the gyros.

I was having trouble with ground steering, but I was unable to find the joystick utility so I ended by deleting the joystick gauge (which throws up an error, by the way). This resulted in normal nose wheel steering.

The autopilot works well, but is rather basic (as with the real aircraft, I presume).

The one thing I cannot do so far is start the engines without using Ctrl-E.

Very nice to fly and I am sure it would be better if I had the joystick utility working instead of the FS joystick.

Any help with the engine start would be appreciated.

Now back to enjoying the flying. Улыбка

John: I started also with FS9 ctrl (?) E. But still not rered the AN 24 procedure, maybe its the same, cause the subpanels look very similar.
My bigger problem is the nosewheel steering, with joystick deactivated is full right, with FS 9 joystick activated only the aerodynamic steering works. Next time I ll try the Tu-124 panel with the Tu-104. This combination worked well with the old Tu-104-model , applying the Tu-124 procedures.
The outside model of the new one is not better as the old one, see my screenshots on page 67 of the screenshot gallery.

The textures of the old CSA model (Tu-104 A) are better than the new ones (?) of the Aeroflot 104 B.
good luck!

Hi!

I wanted to do a quick translation of the manual by using a translation software, but whenever I copy text from the pdf and paste it, it is displayed as computer-symbols*-/(%%& but not russian...Anyone has an idea how to handle this?

So far I tried to combine the Tu-124 panel with the new model, but could not start the fuel-pumps, even with ctrl E the engines didnt start. Using the airfile with the old 2003 model together with the Tu-124 panel worked, only the brake chute came out and dissappaered immediatly. The flying qualities were very good, but very nose heavy, someting what happens combinig different aircraft.config and airfiles. Let see if something can be done about that.

Hi:

After a long time I came back to the new 104, the engines started fine applying the AN 24 procedure: bat on fuelpumps on, engine mains on, starter-swiches on, selector left selector right. on and not switching on the cold-start.
What I didnt understand is how to use the joystickutility. With FS joystick on its unpleasent to fly.
Nosewheel steering did not work, but seems the real Tu-104 was also steered by differential braking (F11 F12 in FS)

Best regards

Walter
