I am happy that finally Tushka works in P3D, so far everything seems to be fine.
The only thing which is not working at all is KLN.
I have searched KLN related pages, installed latest KLN dll - no success, KLN do not want to build database.
I think KLN generally does not work in P3D.

As alternative, i have tried to switch KLN to Civa INS - no success.

Is there any way to implement Civa INS to that bird ?
( i know there is Russian version, but i want to use Civa INS )

There isn't a way, the I-21 in the 90's panel is the INS that was used in Russian planes, and it's practically the same as CIVA.

As for the KLN, look here, that one should work in P3D.

Hi Adonis,

I have gone through that page, took latest version of KLN, but even 'half screen' problem was fixed, but KLN cannot build database so basically is useless.
I think that KLN development is also dead end.

It isn't, I personally use Dutch's last version (which lacks SID/STAR support) in FSX. You might be missing some MS VB Redistributables, plus make sure to read the included manual carefully!

Hi,

I have read manual, but could not find any solution there.
If u go on given web page, there are reports of creating database problem.
Finally, If u use KLN, it does not mean that project is alive - i said is dead end as i see no more updates, or even forum activity - but i might be wrong of course.

If u are knowledgeable man in that matter, could u tell me what are possible solutions, or where should i search to nail the problem ?
What means VB ?, do u mean C++ distributable ?

Do you use P3D ?

Why not doing the original way?

The NVU system works fine as long as you do the flight-preparation via the NCALC tool. You can control your advance via the FS map or a default GPS.

At least FS9 still has its merits as KLN90B works fine there and ARINC updates can be implemented searching for them on AVSIM.SU

The real Tushkas were flown outside GUS (or USSR) by the KLN90B, inside by the NVU system and VOR, RSBN and the various NDBs still available there. AND they had a navigator onboard who had to work for his pay! Улыбка
As in FS we are alone in the "cockpit" its a little more demanding to fly as in real.

The autopilot of the 154s is also not a new one, so flying tight procedures can bring the GPS guided AP quickly to its limits even in FS9. And flying a difficult approach by hand is more satisfying than watching the thing doing all by itself.

There existed Tu-154s with FMC but these marvels have also their limits while beeing employed to do the flying under circumstances outside well developed environments as it came out with Polish Airforce 101 at Smolensk.

By all its merits the 154s were not designed and flown like an AB 330.

Kind regards

Walter

Things in P3D are not that easy :-)
KLN - does not work
NVU - cannot export flight plan as i21_cfg is missing ( i have checked - indeed there is no such file in Gauges folder )
RSBN - not for my head...
INS - working
VOR/NDB - can do, but not so realistic, unless we talk about very early stage of commercial service of Tu154.

For me definitely the best choice would be KLN, but...

1) RSBN is very like VOR in the 154 only used to correct NVU

2) NVU can be handled via the two counters by hand, between counter 1 and 2 automatic tranfer at the waypoints is done by the NVU system

3) All the second generation jets (B 727, B 737 -not the NG, MD-80s) flew the procedures around the airports by VORs

4) Long distance navigation via NVU is very nice see my exampleflight Tu-154, which was written with the help of a real Tu-154M navigator.

Kind regards

I am now 73 and my co-author is 68.

Without kidding: The problem is the start afterward it looks quite easy!

Kind regards

Walter

P.S.: The 154 can be flown from VOR to VOR around most parts of the world but not over oceans. Умник
