Hi all users.

I have been read that Il-62M will be porting from FS2004 to FSX, so I wonder when it can also porting to X-Plane 10? I wonder because FSX is old and soon outdated.

Hi:

As a longterm member you know, that PT was designed for FS 9, a very small number of enthusiast namely Kirill did the adaption on FSX of Tu 154 B2 and is working on the IL 62M. As there are many communalities between the Tu and the IL its logical that the choice was FSX.

Now after the unseccsessful start of MS FLIGHT, the end of the MS designerteam and the annoucment of MS not to develop MS FLIGHT further the future of MS flightsimulations looks bad. But there are people who stay as comercial developers with FSX (and FS9) others try to introduce FS X developments outside MS, so the whole future of flightsimulation is at the moment in a limbo.

see that: http://www.protu-154.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12580&highlight=fsx

and that:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/380841-flight-post-mortem/

For the moment deciding to change to a non MS platform is difficult, and MS FS9 and FSX are running even better on the new hardware which we can buy.

Kind regards

Walter

If one is prepaired to pay 199 Dollars for it maybe.

Open still if our Tushkas can be transformed into it.

P.S. 180 Dollars pays one simulator hour on a comercial diamond aircraft flighttraining center (instructor, flightpreparation and debriefing included).
Or nearly 2 hours of real flying in a DA 20 (in the USA!)

The porting for X-plane is technical nearly impossible.

X-Plane is a completely different platoform, if someday someone decides to port any PT product to X-PLane, it will be much more simple to write it from scratch, not to use current code.

The code of all pt aircrafts is very unprofessional(tha most of this code are writen by non-professional programmists), it is very difficult to port it even from fs9 to fsx, and this platforms are very close to each other...

Prepar3d is not the "future" it is simlpy the same FSX... The same technical problems, the same system usage. Why we need to pay 200 bucks for the same programm?

Some enchantments, that was made by L-M, doesn't change the "core" features of FSX.

hello all,

i would like to reply for P3D:

the prepar3d is "just" 50$ (academic license)
check it here: http://www.prepar3d.com/prepar3d-academic/

it's right, the L-M developers made "some" corrections, but its seems to made it better.

i did a test with the both programs (fsx/P3D with pmdg ngx) result:
the fps and gfx by the same settings in fsx definitely weaker then P3D

P3D its about 10 fps faster in VC.

i am not programmer, just a simply user.
but i see, there is something wrong in FSX/P3D with the water effect and with the shadow.
the FPS becouse of "clouds" is just in FSX worse, in P3D ok.

there is two problems, becouse of need to use both programs.

at the moment impossible to port the realityxp gps and fsinn to P3D

why i must use the FSX, becouse i really love your wonderful Tu154.

thank you and big respect for PT Team.

Хорошо Улыбка

Hi:

An alternative would also be:

Find a copy of FS 9 and the SP 1 and 2, you can use Tu 154 M and Tu 134 IL 62 M and all the other Russian airplanes.
FS 9 runs very well with Windows 7 on a dualcore machine.

Kind regards

Walter

Yeah, But it looks so bad... Awful low-res textures, very small range of detailed textures on ground, small cloud draw radius...

FSX with medium settings without any post processing of frames will give you reasonably good FPS and the picture will be much better.

Hmm... I have sent an e-mail to the place that has the Il-62 parked in Stoelln and asked for the permit to measure the instruments and size of cockpit in this airplane.

If they say yes; then, I am ready to making an identical copy.

One idea more:

Captain Kallbach who landed the IL-62 in Stцlln (850 m grass) is very active still giving lectures etc. Maybe he has documentation with the dimensions.
You can reach him via his homepage:

Kind regards

Walter

A good news! The person who working with the museum of Il-62 in Stoelln says that it is possible. So, I will travel to this museum, but it will not be open before the end of march.

I'm checking price what it costs to travel from Bergen to Berlin; it costs me 3000 kr for 2 person from 20 march to 24 march (weekend). I won't travelling alone. So, after that, if anyone who asking me for this measure, I prefer to get a little money for that because I will pay for this purpose and that is almost impossible to get measurement even from Ilyushin factory. Of course you can get it free.

I completed this excursion. I tell more if you completed the PT Il-62M. I say it because I want to make you more eager to complete than to stay "on hold" by painting problem, which can be solved, as you mentioned, which is actually lack of reason.

I found a painter recently, but he did nothing for now, b.t.w. he hadn't much time to do something - we need to wait. If there will be the progress- the project will be resumed. Currently the status is the same.

At least you found a painter, who might have time later. Small news is better than none )
