Hi all
I can't use the final approach speed stabilisation as described page 72 of the manual.
Can anybody let me know how this feature can be used?

Sorry for the delay in my answer, did not see your post.

The feature you mention is the use of autothrottle in an ILS approach, only for that approach it was permitted to use it.

On page 71 its described how it works.

What there not has been said is: the selector of the speed information must be put up (to the captains ASI).

1 Mainswitch on and closed

2 Press here: green light on! AT engaged will hold current speed

3 Selector on captains ASI

4 Select speed for ILS approach (full flaps full landing weight 275 km/h)

Remark: Done expertly by hand (ca.82 % N2) speed will be better held as by AT!

Kind regards

Walter

P.S.: With that feature works also the automatic go around, when throttles are advanced.

AT must be disconnected by hand (Independently of AP) before landing (not so in IL-62, where AP off disconetcs AT also.)
