Hello,

I'm going to Moscow and St Petersburg next month, and I thought I could find a nice soviet watch there. (like an original 24H Raketa or an original Strela for example)

Last time I was in Moscow, I went to the Izmaïlovo market, but dindn't find anything like this. (except in the watch store close to the main entry, but I'm not looking for such new timepieces)

Does anyone know where I could find that, or who I should contact for that?

I know there are lots on the internet, but I'm worried about their authenticity. There are certainly people in Moscow who are selling their old watches, no?

Thanks a lot Улыбка

Hi: Mine (the sturmanski "MIG 29" chronograf) was bought around 1990 in Viena, but there is an official dealer of Poljot in Germany:

http://www.poljot.de/index.html

They are producing now new editions of famous watches, like Gagarins watch.

My brother in law bought 7 year ago in Moscow still the original Pilots watch: the cronograf with the movabel bezel and the second-stop that you can put the watch exactly. This one (new edition) is in Ruwatch available but not cheap.

Good Luck

Walter

Thanks for your answer Walter,

I bought my new Strela from Poljot24.de, but now I want an original watch, built during the Soviet era. That's why I'm looking for a 'vintage' one.

Would you by any chance know where your brother in law bought his watch in Moscow?

Danke! Улыбка

Hi: I talked with my brother in law: He bought two watches, the cronograph 1989 in Berlin from a Russian soldier. But the small minute-hand doesnt stop pulling the crown, means its not the original pilots-watch of the Red Army, which would be the most valuable one.

8 years ago in Moscow he bought a 24-hour "Raketa" in a souvenirs shop, but there were only few watches still available. A cronograph was not among them.

Seems not so good news!

OK, that's what I feared! Thanks anyways for having asked.

I asked on some dedicated forums, and it came out that I'd have most chances in Ismaïlovo. So I'll try that again, hoping I'll find some interesting pieces!

Vielen Dank für deine Hillfe Walter Улыбка
