At least can somebody tell, what the new yellow light in the annunciator-panel means, because if you switch on the brake-fan before a flight it lights up, when you switch the brake-fan on during landing (and braking) it does not light up till some time after roll out and it comes on. Means the yellow light: Brake fan not necessary?

Regards

Hello, Walter,

The yellow light means that after landing you should start APU. You do NOT need to turn ON brakes' fans before landing. They need to be turned on during take off roll, before applying the brakes, or in the glideslope. Or in case of aborted take off.

Best regards,

Slava.

Hi Slava: Thanks, this means doing circuits (flightshool!) it can be on all the time from T.O. to end of exercise, regardless of gear up and down?

Regards

Walter

That's ok, thank's.

But how can you see if the temperature is ok? I.e. after a RTO ?

Bye

Walter,

If you do a training flight, before every next take off you should turn off brakes' fans. And if your flight (from take off to landing) last less then 30 minutes you should commit it with landing gear in DOWN position. Actually, there are many restrictions in flight manual about it.

Thunderbird,

There is such thing like "thermo witnesses" (I don't know exact translation in English). They melt when brakes' temperature was to high. All I can say brakes' fans have to be turned on for 30 minutes after landing.

Best regards,

Slava.
